Tribal Cultural Property Protection

In 2005, we settled a complex intergovernmental dispute filed in Thurston County Superior Court that arose from the destruction of ancestral village and burial ground during the construction of a state transportation project. The Tribe received $5.5 million and the return of 17 acres of ancestral waterfront land, where tribal ancestors were returned to rest.
